the best lucid dream method that has a high success ive seen is the reminder method how its done is you leave something physical around to remind yourself as you are dreaming that you are asleep

for example a candle (dont set anything on fire) or music in your ear

its best if it's something with sensory like a smell or sound

the most advanced thing i can do within a dream is to look at a mirror and take a deep breath, which i managed to do for the second time in my dream this morning. the first attempt i was without mouth and nose, which were void. i've previously noticed this effect while staring into mirrors. after 20 minutes parts of my face would start to disappear.
i knew the place i was in. i read text right beforehand that read
"spirit realizes they are spirit" approximentally, not exact

and during the encounter it was very shocking

this time, that wasn't noticeable. the moment was very brief. only a few seconds in an unfamiliar place. though enough time for me to take a deep, long breath. during this dream i was able to generate the dream from within. i consider this especially an achievement because of the boundaries of my aphantasia

aphantasia: the inability to voluntary visualize an image in the minds eye

typically, i would define aphantasia as being most noticeable during waking hours. as i work under the assumption that dreams are a different type of hallucination. i have no source for this, but i have read multiple reports and heard first hand of aphantasiacs regaining the ability to visualize voluntarily after the age of 30.

i took note of my aphantasia very early, being present in the way i understood art. it has always been a goal of mine to "cure" this inability.

i still can rarely picture something in my head. of course i cannot spin a pear. or a cow. i can, though, visualize colors, scents, tastes, songs and dim shapes and symbols(last one i can only do with focus and meditation).

though today i pulled a memory from a dream while falling back asleep and focused on it intentionally and it appeared before me. this was exciting. unfortunately, it was a minecraft fnaf map and the stairs were fucked up. this fact was enunciated by my friend being inside the security room with 5 mostly broken computers

to conclude the meaning of this, i'm not quite sure how. does that have something to do with my aphantasia? or maybe it's unuseful nonsense and should be disregarded from my progress?

my focus is important for my task. this information is provided as a stepping stone in the path of dreaming.
