Datura is a deliriant. She is a toxic plant that will kill you if the dosage is too high. The dosage varies plant to plant, leaf to leaf, and is nearly impossible to tell how strong it will be. It is common for teenagers to eat the seeds, as it grows all over California and elsewhere. Known as Jimson Weed. The trips involve a dream-like delirium where memory and hallucinations function as a waking dream. Studying the make up of this plant fascinates me because the hallucinations are so dream-like and are so similar to the delirium I experience in alot of my dreams, which is why a part of me takes on the name Belladonna.

Common hallucinations with Datura involve talking to people who are not there, familiar and ancestoral people. Terrifying spiritual encounters are common as well. The best enviroment for a deliriant trip is a ritualistic one, common in indigenous cultures. The spirit of the plant will work with you, and ally with you. The trip reports vary from terrifying near-death horror to wonderful spiritual and religious breakthroughs. I've read multiple reports of people walking around in a delirious state and finding themselves exactly where they need to be. When taken ritualisticlly, the breakthroughs in delirium are ground breaking and psychedelic in nature.

Besides this context, I don't know much about how it works on the brain chemically. I see words that keep popping up. Atropines, terpenes, alkaloids. I understand terpenes as a adaptation in response to trauma and are the cause of flowers colors, smells and toxins (same for insects). I have a theory a trip with a plant is a direct interaction with the plant spirit's conciousness. You peek into their dream. Terpenes are much better understood through the use of medicinal cannibas. The chemical makeup of magic mushrooms specifically interests me. Mycelium is very intelligent and older than trees. If I can't understand my psychosis, maybe I can understand the neurological effects that factor into my perception of reality.
